Signed up for NaNoWriMo 2009
I decided to participate in this year’s NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

Procrastination knows me by name. I often find myself twiddling with ideas for stories but those only went as far as the drawing board, sometimes literally. The luckier ones got fleshed out in my draft notes but I have yet to put my mind to churning out a proper manuscript.
While it is good to have a good background for a story, it is nothing if the wealth of resources isn’t used to write a story. I enjoy the world building process but I admit that I tend to want to work out every minute detail.
If you’ve never heard of it, this is a brief introduction taken from the official website:
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved.
Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It’s all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.
I missed the joy in writing for the fun of it, so I have decided to take a plunge and give NaNoWriMo a try this year. We’ll see how it turns out! Incidentally, this year marks then tenth anniversary of NaNoWriMo. Congratulations, Chris!
Gunpla withdrawal symptoms
It has been a while since my last post. I’ve been doing many extra hours at work so I’m usually asleep once I get on on train and bus on my way home. Back at home, I get my daily dose of Facebook before I attempt to absorb all the knowledge from photography books. Read more
iPhone sync woes
Just when I thought that I would be able to finally use my iPhone 3G S, another problem crops up. I have been able to use the phone fine but when I tried to sync it with my computer, iTunes refuses to recognise the device. I’m running Windows XP Professional 64 bit and I know that the OS is not supported by iTunes. However, I have been able to install it. For some reasons, the latest iTunes 9 does not install properly on Windows XP 64 bit. Read more
iPhone caseless
Initially, I was tempted to get a trendy looking case for my iPhone. Afterall, it took me a hard time to finally get hold of the phone. I wanted something simple and minimalist. However, upon testing, I realised that most cases are bulky and cover up the sleek design of the iPhone. Read more
iPhone 3G S. Finally.
It was a long journey for me to get hold of my iPhone 3G S.
I picked up my iPhone 3G S on Saturday. It has been a long wait that dates back to 10th July. I had been waiting eagerly for the launch of the phone and signed up to be notified by the telco when they launch the product here. Read more
