An aspiring artist and author

I have moved the site to WordPress. Since there were only two posts of no importance in the Movabletype installation, I decided not to import those.

While MT 4.2 is a fantastic piece of software, it does not suit my needs. The need to have technical knowledge to be able to even install the software is a barrier to many beginners. I was an avid supporter of Movabletype, having moved over from WordPress. I was an early user of WordPress but due to the drawbacks it had back then, I went to search for a better blogging software.

A chance tryout of the new WordPress 2.8 amazed me with the improvements made to WordPress. It is very intuitive in terms of usage. Then, there’s the famous 5 minutes installation. The feature that really caught my attention is the ability to install themes and plugins straight from within WordPress. Adding a plugin to MT was a pain. Although you can install themes from within MT, there are very few sites dedicated to MT theme development, compared to the vast numbers there are for WordPress.

I hope this move is for the better of this site. I’m still monitoring the progress of Movabletype. MT 4.3 has just been released and it will be interesting to see how the competition between these two fantastic pieces of softwares will work out.
